Bruce Peninsula, Georgian Bay and Minden
Spring Thaw, Niagara Escarpment 12.5x14.5 (sold)
Our painting group has gone on many painting trips to various parts of Ontario. We have explored and painted at sites along the coastline near Tobermory, the steep escarpment cliffs running along the east side of the Bruce Peninsula, as well as the flattened shoreline of Lake Huron on the west side.
Generous cottage owners at 12 Mile Bay, Shawanaga Bay, Point au Baril and Bing Inlet have made the paintings seen here possible.
On painting trips to the Minden area in January, with temperatures as low as -22 degrees F, we have discovered that it is possible to paint outside with the right equipment and hand and toe warmers tucked into mitts and boots. Fortunately dry pastel, my preferred medium for painting on site, is not affected by the freezing cold.
Pastels - soft pastel on paper, framed with mats and glass. Canvases- silkscreen paint and acrylic on canvas, framed. Dimensions describe work before framing.
