Our group has taken a couple of painting trips to Northern Ontario to the Algoma region. In 2012, we painted at places along the Mississagi River, north of Thessalon. We experienced a lot of rain there but I still managed to get work started, and with my photos for reference, I found it to be a highly productive trip. I am still working on studio paintings derived from plein air sketches started on this trip.

Another trip we took was to the Whitefish River area west of Killarney in 2016. Our painting group found some wonderful places to paint: from the top of Tower Hill, the mouth of Whitefish River and at Baie Fine where we hired a boat taxi to take us out to an island in Baie Fine. Sadly, a sudden thunder storm cut our afternoon there short. We were grateful to our driver, though, who raced out to pick us up.
